Rip City Recap
Another Trail Blazer season has come and gone. We have continued to work with both the organization and individual Blazers players. It was our most impactful season yet which produced a collection I intend to build on for next year. Below are the highlights from the 2017-1018 season:
For the month of October we partnered with friend and Blazer legend Brian Grant. We held an in-store event which turned into an all out party. Highlights included listening to the Eagles Ventura Highway on repeat (Brian's call, not mine) an intense after hours game of horse on our mini basketball hoop (essentially knocking over ever manikin in the store) and making this rad Rasta Monsta Fundraiser Tee for his charity.
We followed up with another fundraiser t-shirt...this time with Moe Harkless after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico as Harkless is Puerto Rican. We donated the proceeds to the relief efforts of the Dallas Mavericks' JJ Barea and his wife Viviana Ortiz.
For Rip City Clothing (The Blazers Team Store), inside the Moda Center we collaborated on three t-shirts and one hat. They appear in order at the bottom of this post:
1. PTB Heritage Tee (Maroon and Overcast) (3/12/18 vs. Miami Heat)
2. Land of the Three Tee (3/23/18 vs. Boston Celtics)
3. Rip City Scenic Cap (4/11/18 vs. Utah Jazz)
Both PTB Heritage tee (Maroon) and Rip City Scenic Caps were Items-of-the-Game. These hats sold out in under an hour. I'm still fielding calls and messages on this thing...it's incredible!
It's gratifying to see our products merchandised next to iconic and storied brands like Nike, Mitchell & Ness. Even more fulfilling is the opportunity to partner with good people doing work we love in our community. The two go hand-in-hand, at the end-of-the-day it's what makes this all feel worthwhile.
